You are a gifted person. While the word “gifted” in our day often refers to those with exceptional capabilities, the truth is everyone us has been given a unique “gift-mix” by the Lord who loves us.

God said of the craftsman Bezalel, “I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship.” Exodus 31:3

Sometimes we limit our ideas of giftedness to matters like gifts of faith, healing, giving and mercy which are among the gifts we learn about in the New Testament.

Yet, God also gifted Bezalel with the knowledge, ability and skills for the work he was to do. God has gifted you for the work set before you!

Notice Bezalel was gifted by God and Bezalel was filled by the Holy Spirit.

Empowered by the Holy Spirit and using hisGod-given abilities, Bezalel was able to accomplish the work that our Lord sent him to do.

Our Lord also gifts and empowers you by his Spirit to accomplish the work that he has sent you to do – work in your home, in your place of employment, in your community, and in the church.  

Thank God for the abilities that you have received and work to develop them. As you use them, trust the Lord to work through you by his power.

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the LordJesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17

 "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people.” Colossians 3:23

An excellent way to discover your gifts, not just the spiritual gifts mentioned in the New Testament, but other abilities that God has given you is to use the three questions of Ray Stedman in his book "Body Life." Do others see the gift in you? Do you see the gift in you? Does it bear fruit?
