Building One Another  

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. I Thessalonians 5:11

Conscious Encouragement

Dear Friend,    

Sometimes we encourage people with little forethought. We just impulsively say or do something that lift’s someone’s heart.

At the same time, we all know people whose ongoing challenging situations slip from our minds in the busyness of our lives.

Becoming a conscious encourager is a way to elevate these people over the long haul.

Consider spending a mental moment in the beginning of your day thinking of the people you anticipate you will see that day to whom you will offer some encouragement.

Then think of people in your wider circle who you do not expect to see, but with whom you may make conscious contact, in order to offer a word of encouragement.

Then follow through - be a conscious encourager – and make a difference in the lives of others!

“The Lord your God is with you wherever you go,” reminds us that our Lord is the ultimate conscious encourager who  invites all of us to do likewise!

1. Who is a person who has encouraged you over a long period of time. How have they done it? What leads them to remember you?
2. Practice the mental moment of thinking through people you will see today - and who you will encourage - and people you will not see but will make conscious contact to encouragement them.
